Hello everyone, Today we will review the upcoming 2024 Explorer from Ford. The 2024 Ford Explorer is a three-row SUV and one of the largest and longest-running utility vehicles produced by Ford Motor Company.
The Explorer was one of the first universally popular SUVs when it debuted more than 30 years ago, and the current sixth-generation model delivers a more refined ride, greater utility, and more technology than ever before. The Explorer underwent a minor refresh in 2022, but we anticipate another refresh in 2024.
2024 Ford Explorer New Design
Spy photographers have captured disguised Explorer ST and Timberline models testing on public roads, leading us to suspect that a 2024 redesign is imminent. Examine the headlights, taillights, grille, and bumpers for modifications. We wouldn’t be surprised if Ford improved the Explorer’s technology in addition to its design. The 15.5-inch touchscreen display found in the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Ford F-150 Lightning is superior to the Explorer’s current system.

The Explorer competes in a class saturated with three-row vehicles from other automakers. Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, and Honda Pilot are among Edmunds’ top recommendations. All of these provide slightly more luxurious interiors than the Explorer, and the Explorer’s price can escalate rapidly when options are added. Ford also offers the larger Expedition and smaller Escape and Edge models if the Explorer does not meet your requirements.
Engine Options & Performance
We are unaware of any powertrain updates at this time. The base engine in the current Explorer is the 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder with 300 horsepower that is found in a number of Ford vehicles. The ST’s 400-horsepower V6 EcoBoost engine provides power for ritzier grades. There are also turbocharged and normally aspirated versions of the hybrid V6 engine. Demand for the Mustang Mach-e has delayed manufacture of the EV variants of the Explorer (and its Lincoln Aviator cousin) until the latter half of 2024.
Ford has already unveiled its improvements to the Explorer for the Chinese market, but it’s unlikely that we will receive the same features. Notable modifications include a bigger grille, an LED lightbar for the daytime running lights, and a monstrous 27-inch infotainment display. We will update this post when official details are available.
