The 2024 Kia Seltos fits very well with the rest of Kia’s lineup, which features other vehicles with comparable aesthetics, cabin space, and fun-to-drive characteristics. The Seltos sits between the Soul and the Sportage, and its slightly larger-than-subcompact dimensions give it more excellent cargo space than competitors like the Hyundai Kona and the Nissan Kicks.
2024 Kia Seltos New Design
Like the previous model, The 2024 Seltos will come out with five trim levels: LX, S, EX, X-Line, and SX. The Seltos has had a makeover for 2024, making it seem and feel even more modern and enticing than before. It has two powerful four-cylinder options, the larger of which generates 195 horsepower through turbocharging. The Seltos is one of our favorite compact SUVs because it comes with all-wheel drive as standard on most trim levels. It offers excellent value and practicality even in its entry-level S variant.
Cargo & Interior Design
The Seltos has significantly more capacity for passengers and goods than the Hyundai Kona. The interior materials are polished enough to be shown beside the brand’s superb Telluride SUV in the showroom. Interior ambient lighting is standard on the upmarket SX model and can be configured to pulse in time with the music, similar to the technology seen in the smaller Soul SUV offered by Kia.
During our test drive of the pre-facelift model, the cargo space readily accommodated our luggage, backpacks, and camera bag; we were able to store eight carry-on baggage in the cargo hold and twenty with the rear seats folded down. We anticipate that the Seltos’ load capacity will remain constant for the 2024 model year.
The Seltos’s infotainment system has undergone significant revisions for the 2024 model year, with a new panel spanning two-thirds of the dashboard acting as both a digital gauge display and an infotainment touchscreen.
This configuration is optional and comparable to that of other contemporary Kia vehicles. Standard equipment includes a smaller display and an analog gauge cluster. We anticipate Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, and an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, although Kia has not yet confirmed their presence.
Engine Options & Performance
Kia’s Seltos can be had with either a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine good for 147 horsepower or a turbocharged, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine good for 195 hp. We drove a Seltos equipped with the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine back when it produced only 175 hp and were impressed by its performance. The standard engine is coupled to a CVT, while the turbo model features an eight-speed auto. With the exception of the S trim, all other trims come standard with all-wheel drive. Compared to rivals like the Jeep Compass and Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, the Seltos provides a more engaging and composed driving experience thanks to its hard but mainly smooth ride and precise handling for an SUV.
Price & Release Date
So far no official information about the 2024 Seltos prices and release date, but we believe the Seltos will likely remain a fairly affordable option. We expect trim levels to mirror that of the 2023 model, but with slightly higher prices and possibly a reshuffling of options.
